I’m Jealous of My Sibling…

Having a younger sibling is always a challenging experience for the older child. From that moment on, they are no longer considered “the little one,” and everyone around them starts saying things like, “Now you’re the big one; you need to do this or that for them.” They also begin sharing things that, up until then, were exclusively theirs: their toys, their room, and even the people they love, like their mom and dad. Truly, so many changes!

As they grow up, things become difficult for both of them. Surely, two siblings will always have differences, such as weight, height, or school grades. Their interests and opinions might also be different. Thus, even the smallest trigger can spark “battles,” which, however, are always followed by those magical moments of truce and reconciliation.

As strange as it may sound, our sibling is our first and lifelong friend. With them, we will play our first games, explore the world around us, and, ultimately, run to them to share our worries and joys.
In conclusion, it’s worth considering that our parents gave us a wonderful gift—someone who will always be by our side: our sibling!
